Seawater desalination
Pressure resilience for seawater desalination.
Evaluate TFX membrane technology against your feed composition, recovery target, and product-water requirements.

APPLICATION NOTE
Define the opportunity.
Seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) is one of the TFX portfolio’s primary application pathways. The evaluation objective is stable separation performance under the intended pressure, salinity, and temperature duty.
This application note adapts the supplied company portfolio and brochure. The evaluation steps below describe how to scope a project; they are not a process-performance guarantee.
EVALUATION FRAMEWORK
Specify the feed. Define success.
- 01
Specify the separation
Provide the seawater analysis, desired recovery, flow, temperature range, and product-water specification.
- 02
Select the element duty
Define the proposed operating conditions and verify the ratings of the existing or proposed system.
- 03
Establish acceptance criteria
Agree on normalized performance, salt passage, operating sequences, and the required evaluation duration.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Keep the boundaries clear.
Does the standard element format guarantee retrofit compatibility?
No. Geometry is one integration requirement. Confirm pressure, temperature, flow, seals, materials, and other system limits at the intended duty.
Where can I review the pilot collaboration?
The validation section links to ACWA’s February 2, 2026 public announcement. It is an announcement of pilot testing, not a completed field-performance report.
